Krista Rigling (owner) and her partner Chef Josh Hillyard specialize in everything from evaluated charcuterie and boozy brunches to 6-course dinners with wine and whiskey pairings. They will co-create for you the perfect dining experience during your visit.
Chef Josh Hillyard is a successful chef & entrepreneur born in rural western Kentucky. His journey began on his family’s farm where he learned the value of hard work & became passionate about food from “farm to table”. This journey would take him to Louisville at a young age and eventually to Los Angeles to attend culinary school and study at several prestigious restaurants. “Growing up in Kentucky has instilled in me a strong sense of dedication, creativity & inspiration. It’s a place that makes me strive to come up with better ideas, dishes, & ways to improve my art as a chef.” Chef Hillyard has been sharing his talents along the local food scene for over 20 years, with stints at some of the city’s best establishments - as well as the elite opportunity to cook at the James Beard house. He brings a unique style and understanding of elevated Southern cuisine with a background in classic French cooking.

Food & Alcohol Cost - Determined and priced specifically on the cost of your desired menu.
Chef Fees & Taxes
- Chef fee: Monday-Thursday $1200, Friday-Sunday $1400
- Tax: 6% tax will be added to the total cost
- Gratuity: 20% added to the invoice; Additional gratuity provided at your discretion
The Samuels House charges a $125 HOSTING FEE for use of the space for the private dining experience. To book, please add only 1 to your cart (NOT per person) - this payment is for the fee only. Once booked, the chef team will contact you for planning and payment of the meals using the pricing structure above. Requires 7-days advanced notice. Subject to availability.
